Heritage Humanities California Magnet Program

Heritage Humanities California Magnet Program

Heritage Humanities is the premier academic magnet program at La Habra High School.

This dual-tiered program offers a traditional pathway for advanced learners seeking a challenge and an Honors/AP pathway for the most serious university-oriented students.

The program emphasizes a comprehensive humanities-based education, requiring students to take extensive courses in social science, English, world language, and the fine arts (visual and/or performing). Interdisciplinary integration and thematic coverage within accelerated courses ultimately facilitate a humanities-centered education for post-high school preparation.

The curriculum engages both Honors/AP and Traditional (regular) Heritage Humanities students with innovative learning activities, field trips, service, and leadership opportunities, and technology; creative teaching and learning approaches are encouraged.

A PROUD TRADITION (SINCE 1991)

The Heritage Humanities California Magnet program is:

  • The FIRST and OLDEST specialized academic program at La Habra High School
  • The ONLY designated California State magnet program at La Habra High School
  • The FIRST program at La Habra High School to be awarded a CSBA Golden Bell Award for innovation and excellence in education
  • The program with the MOST university acceptances, valedictorians, National Honor Society inductees, and California Scholarship Federation honorees at La Habra High School

The Heritage Humanities logo features a shield with icons representing knowledge and justice.
